"Pure joy is hard to find these days"

"Pure joy is hard to find these days" Hilary Farr Chanced on the tweet and felt it can easily be related to classical dance performances that look more of "organizing" and less of actual "performing". The intensity of organizing or making arrangements to the performance looks pathed to be diverted into peripheral elements and factors. Somewhere in the artistic endeavor, a small need soon expands to become a dominating feature of the performance. A recent practice is where the dancers are entrusted with the job of selling the tickets...!! This innovation is made by some well educated people who feel the need to connect to the audience. A severe distraction that looks like an innocuous and well intended thought soon snowballs into an activity that disturbs the state of mind of the dancer. Another compulsive need is in the social networking. This is something I observe some dancers maintaining a fine balance on the posting and forwards to some who make it a life-necessity. The simple act results in an emotional journey and ensuing interactions that make the performance a second priority. Awards and titles are also proving to be severe distractions. Imagine there is more publicity and focus on the award function with a VIP and not on the actual performance. The soon followed social network can confuse best of dancers.
