Report for the Bharatanatyam Performance - Aruna Bhargavi - on May 20th, 2017 in Shilparamam, Hyderabad

Aruna Bhargavi began her recital with a Pushpanjali and payed obeisance to lord Ganesha to ward away all evils and bless all. This is a composition of Dr  M Balamurali Krishna in Raga Aarabhi and Adi Tala

Aruna Bhargavi moved on to perform a Thodayamangalam in praise of Lord Rama – Jaya Janaki Ramana in Raga Malika and Talamalika. In this piece she bowed down to the Sustainer of the universe – Lord Vishnu in his various forms

Aruna Bhargavi continued to perform a Varnam, in raga Purvikalyani, Adi Talam, a composition of Sri S.K. Kameshwaran

Here the nayika pleaded with her sakhi to fetch her lord Vela, nephew of lord Vishnu – who with a glance can ward her pain away.
She moved on state the indifference of lord Murugha on her – where he looks her in the eyes and promises to stay with her and yet disappears in an instance. She questions her Sakhi of this treatment meted out to her by her lord and tell her that this is the right time for them to unite.
