Classical dance performance for "Mahaa-kaleshwara"  was performed by Bharatanatyam dance Ajith Dass and here is what he has to say about his experience and about Sri Jeyes Rajan.

Here he also explains how he got to work to Sri Rajan.

I worked with Rajan in 2011 for a full length production in Malaysia..Vismaya Vriksha-  Dancing the Tree...a thematic production woven around mythology and emotions based on trees. We converged well and had similar  music sensibilities.

When i decided to create a piece based on Shiva in 2012 fir a concert in Chennai,  i discussed it with him, many discussions sharing my visual ideas for the piece..my approach to choreography and my dance  style itself.

He was absolutely receptive and in return inspired me to new musical possibilities. This piece  is special for me for its simplicity  and soulfulness

About the video:

Sharing a memory of a wonderful experience working with Jeyes Rajan on this unique piece. He is a composer who is sensitive and understands the nuances of music and dance. He thinks dance first and formulates echoing notes to resonate the essence of the lyric and composition. Each musical phrase echoes a movement and it was a joy choregraphing and performing this composition.

Great support from dear collaborators Ramamoorthy Sriganesh on the mridangam ganesh, Ramya Sundaresan Kapadia vocal and Jayashree Ramanathan on the nattuvangam to help bring this piece alive.
